IFPA represented in workshop in the EADV Spring Symposium

Annika Rastas, Director of the IFPA Secretariat, was also invited by Chairman Professor Julien Lambert to participate as speaker in the workshop “Skin disease from the perspective of patients’ organisation fora". Annika talked from a patient’s perspective under the topic “The relationship between patient, patient organisation and dermatologist in Sweden”. But she also underlined the enormous importance of a good cooperation between the patient organisations and the medical profession all over the world and used the upcoming 2nd World Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Conference and World Psoriasis Day as good examples of successful cooperation between these groups.

IFPA are very thankful to the generosity and support that EADV are showing our organisation and also that we had the unique opportunity to participate in a workshop of the Spring Meeting representing the psoriasis and psoriatic patients.

This was the first time ever that the view from the patient organisations have been a part of the general program and been given the floor to give the patients reflections and experiences from different parts in the world. We really appreciate this possibility and are honoured for the opportunity and we hope that it is representing the start of an even deeper and wider form of cooperation between patients, patient organisations and the medical profession.

IFPA as representative for patient organisations and the patient’s voice are convinced that with this increased cooperation between our groups, together we can make a difference and improve the lives for the 125 million people living with psoriasis all over the globe.
