Psoriasis Week in Mexico
2009/07/20 - News from patients associationsLast June, the Mexican Psoriasis Association (AMCPSO) held in its headquarters the 2009 Psoriasis Week under the theme “Lighten you psoriasis”. This title was chosen because the week programme would turn around topics such as the relation between psoriasis and obesity, hypertension and diabetes. The programme conferences took place as follows:
- First, we counted with the presence of the best psoriasis expert in Mexico, Dr. Gladys Leon, who participated with the theme “What is psoriasis?”
- In the second day, the conference was led by another psoriasis expert dermatologist, Dr. Fernando Blancas who presented an interesting topic on “The Auto-treatment”.
- The third conference was carried out by the dermatologist Norma Juarez with the theme “Skin care for psoriasis patients”.
- The last presentation was made by another dermatologist expert in psoriasis, Dr. Virgilio Santamaria, the topic being “Management of chronic patients”.
- After each conference, Ricardo Navarro, President of AMCPSO, made a presentation on the importance of mutual-help patient groups and its effects in the patient recovery.
Due to great success of the Psoriasis Week, the laboratory that has support us and that is well recognized among the pharmaceutical industry, has suggested us that we should hold not one but two similar events in 2010. AMCPSO Directors’ Board
